Teddy Bears Picnic

We enjoyed our teddy bears picnic so much I forgot to take photos - but I managed to grab a couple of pictures to share.  I hope the children enjoyed sharing their learning with you that they did with their teddies and toys this week.

The Circus Came to Town!

We were fortunate to have a visit from one of the acts from the Zirka Circus at school on Friday.  All the children were in awe of their incredible talents.  I'm sure many of you had an opportunity to visit the circus this weekend so I look forward to hearing all about it!

Room 8 2018!

Welcome to our blog for Room 8 2018!

We hope you enjoy sharing some of the fun things we do this year :-)

Our Bug Hotel!

We got together with Room 6 and built a bug hotel!

We had many wonderful parent and grandparent helpers come along to support us with this and we are so proud of what we achieved - it looks great and should be the perfect home for many insects and arachnids!

Museum Trip

We had such a great time at the museum learning more about insects and arachnids.  I heard the museum staff were impressed with our children's prior knowledge of insects and respectful behaviour :-)

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to come along - sorry we couldn't take you all, but thank you once again to those who did come to support our children on the day!

Grandparent's Day!

What a grand day it was!!  Luckily the weather played its part this time and we all had a wonderful day with our grandparents.  Thank you so much to those of you who were able to make it!

I even got to see one of my teachers from when I was a kid!!

Term 4 Begins!

We started off term 4 with a fun collaborative challenge and a bit of discovery learning!

Our challenge was to work together with our team to use the materials provided to create the longest and strongest bridge.

Here are some pictures of us giving it a try!  The longest successful bridge that could hold the weight for 10 seconds was 140cm long!
